My apologies for being a bit behind this week. Night shifts, followed immediately by a seminar definitely screws with your sleep schedule. I have updated today already, and I plan to do the rest of the week in the morning… mind you it’s a bit difficult to sleep right now with this crazy solar storm going on. On the other hand… it’s cloudy. It’s more of a… do I want to stay up and see if a cloud hole will form or not?

So if you are lucky enough to have clear skies tonight, please enjoy the show. It’s the strongest solar storm since Halloween of 2003, which is literally the same night I saw the northern lights for the first time when I was in university. The sky overhead was just dancing with grey light… hard to forget that kind of thing. Thankfully I have seen them multiple times since, so I’m not fully crushed about not seeing them tonight… although it would have been pretty cool to see them directly overhead again. Newfoundland weather at it’s best. Whenever something cool is going on, you know there’s a good chance it’ll be cloudy.
