I was planning to do a full week update tonight, but I seem to have become under the weather these last two days. In lieu of staying up later doing updates I’m going to settle for grabbing more sleep in hopes to shake this cold off. (expand for more)

However, I did have a peak, and the weather is going to be somewhat steady state for the next 3 to 5 days, with persistent snow squalls and flurries along some of Newfoundland’s coast (for the most part), and some frigid wind chills and temperatures in Labrador.

In the meantime, you can keep up on any of the latest alerts here. There are some lingering winter storms, wind, blowing snow, and snowfall warnings that should mostly be done by tomorrow morning. After that we’ll be left with either snow squall watches or warnings, and some extreme cold.

Speaking of, even if we’re not reaching warning criteria elsewhere in the province, it would be a good week to break out your best winter clothes. While it’s not going to be crazy cold, it’s going to be much colder than it’s been so far, so it usually takes the body a day or two to adapt. Otherwise, if you’re in an area with squalls, the radar is your friend. I won’t presume to tell folks on the west coast how to deal with snow squalls, but some of those may affect the Avalon (for a day or two), so just remember that conditions will vary wildly from one moment to the next. It’s better to pull over and wait 5 minutes if you can’t see than crash and be in much bigger trouble.

That’s it for now. Just remember, winter used to be wayyyyyy longer, so as long as you’re new completely new to the province, you should easily have this.
