As summer begins to wind down, we’re getting into the summer days, and fall nights regime. For the most part anyway. (expand for more)

Once again, we’re nearing the peak of Hurricane Season, but for this week the main thing we’re watching is a strong low pressure system off the east coast of the US. NHC is giving is a 30% chance to become either a tropical storm, or a sub-tropical storm. Whether they name it or not, it doesn’t look like it’s going to chance the weather for Saturday / Sunday. However, if it does gain more tropical characteristics, we could have to keep a close eye on rainfall. Anything with tropical moisture could bring more rain than expected. Regardless of that, it does seem like we’re about to get our first shot Wreckhouse wind in a long time, and it could be pretty strong. You can get the official info from any warnings that get issued here.

Otherwise, the normal highs for the first week of September are around 16 to 18 C for Newfoundland, 11 to 16 C for Labrador. Lows are generally between 7 and 10 C for the Island, and 4 to 6 C for The Big Land.
