Well we’ve had a bit of a wet and wild (to downright soggy) run these past couple of weeks. Areas of eastern Newfoundland are nearing 3 times the normal rainfall for November. We’ve had some minor flooding reported (thankfully mostly along woods roads). We’ve had a landslide somewhere in Green Bay – White Bay. We’ve had some very high tides along the south coast. It’s been a lot with very little relief. (expand for more)
Unfortunately, basically none of that is going to get better looking at the next 7 days, except the risk of coastal flooding, that looks to go away as the tide cycle drops a bit. The risk of everything else should continue, if not get worse given another several days of rain with very little break. The only good news is, at least the pattern seems to be shifting more towards transient lows instead of lows that park themselves over us for several days at a time. That probably means the snow-rain line will begin to dip further south, but most people will still be seeing rain.
Otherwise, temperatures continue to be milder than normal, (much more in Labrador). We’ve set 6 new daily maximum temperature records in Newfoundland since the 15th.
