Well the next 7 days look to be interesting at least. For the first part of the week many places should see a lot more sunshine than we’ve seen recently. Unfortunately, the sunshine will be somewhat limited for St. John’s, as a few pesky impulses may bring more precipitation for the 2nd half of a few days early this week.
Meanwhile, a fairly cold airmass will settle in over the region, bringing some much colder temperatures to Labrador and even parts of Newfoundland. It shouldn’t be cold enough to cause any warnings, but it will definitely be much colder than it’s been recently. (expand for more)
The finally thing to watch out is fairly good agreement on our first significant winter storm of the season. While it may not top the charts in precipitation amounts, there’s good potential for significant wind and perhaps our first shots of blowing snow for some areas. It it turns out like the solutions are currently showing, it will be a good reminder of what time of year it is and what kind of weather we normally get. While most of this is a welcome change to an entire month of RDF, I’m not sure this storm will qualify for that statement. If we’re lucky it will trend weaker with time.
